A visit from Kristel

"Aunt" Kristel came to town for the weekend, which is always a lot of fun for mommy...shopping, pedicures and manicures and this time, a trip to Damneck beach. As much as I wanted to take Nicholas, we're still suffering the smokiness from the NC fires and it was in the mid-90's. I figured Nicholas would be happier at home with daddy and the AC.

Nicholas can now sit up on his own - at least for a little while. He can also roll over, although he does so stealthily in the night. We'll lay him on his belly to go to bed, and when he wakes in the morning (still the VERY early morning), he's on his back.

The tooth of the matter is...

Nicholas has his first tooth - bottom right side! I don't have a picture to post but will attempt to get one this evening...it may be a hard shot to get!

Another great bit of news - Nicholas slept through the night two nights in a row so far this week! Keep your fingers crossed that this becomes a permanent habit!

A surprise visit...

Well, at least we had SOME warning...
Uncle Rob and Aunt Terry decided to make a quick trip to Virginia Beach last week. They said that as Godparents, they felt the best thing they could do was bring a gift with them. Turns out, the gift was Grandma and Grandpa!
Nicholas and mommy thoroughly enjoyed the company! Tony escaped...er...had to stand overnight duty. (he missed out!)
Somehow, Grandpa escaped the camera during this visit! We'll have to remedy that on the next visit - hopefully soon!

splish-splash

Nicholas gets to go "swimming" at Ms. Deanna's house during the day. So far, he seems to LOVE being in the water. Thanks to Aunt Allison, he has cool swim trunks to wear and splash around in!

The cute blonde is Ms. Deanna's oldest daughter, MacKenzie. She really wanted to get her picture taken with Nicholas =)I can't blame her. She'll probably want his autograph one day, too!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! (one day late)

To all the fathers out there - hope your day was extra special.

Tony was treated to a breakfast of crepes and passion fruit mimosas! The crepes were filled with nutella and banannas or strawberries and blueberries. Both versions were topped with whipped cream - move over IHOP! YUM!

Nicholas has a new "trick." He's been able to lift up from his tummy for some time but now he starts swaying back and forth, almost like he is dancing. We tried to capture this on video, however, each time Tony pulled out the camcorder - Nicholas "froze." We'll keep trying - it's pretty cute to see!

Belly Laughs and 5 month comparison

Nicholas has a few ticklish spots - but none so much as his belly. I wish the photos had audio so you could hear him giggling as his daddy "gets his belly."

And, although it's hard for us to believe, Nicholas hit the 5-month mark on Saturday! Time sure flies.

Below are photos from May and June to compare...
