Nicholas's First Christmas

We had a great Christmas! We really enjoyed getting to spend it with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Mike, Aunt Allison, Emily, Leah and Barbara. Everyone was thoroughly spoiled rotten! Here are just a few of many many shots which will be uploaded on snapfish. Stay tuned for some shots of Grandma and Grandpa rockin' out on the Wii with Rock Band! Daycare Christmas Portrait

Deanna, following her tradition of doing fun things with the kids in her care, took some Christmas portraits of each child. She let me know she was doing this ahead of time and I took care to pick out a nice red sweater to go along with the theme. Well, you learn to be flexible when you're a parent...

You may notice that Nicholas is not in a red sweater. Turns out, another one of the daycare kids had a total meltdown and Deanna had to forgo picture taking on the designated day. So, Nicholas is in front of the tree with a wolf sweater...but, either way, I think it's a nice shot! Thanks, Deanna!

A Grand Illumination

We took a trip to Williamsburg yesterday with our friends Leah and Beth to celebrate the cities Grand Illumination festivities. We try to go each year because we love the colonial christmas decorations, the hot apple cider, the festive music and the way the streets are lit with fire hanging from random baskets along the main drag.

Last night was sooo cold, we left way before the fireworks. But, it was still nice to get out and see some of the scenery. Nicholas ran into someone extra special, too. =)

Nicholas's 2nd First Christmas Gift

Uncle Jim, Aunt Becky, Teresa and Alan sent Nicholas a package with instructions to his parents to let him open it right away so that the gift could be enjoyed all season. We, of course, complied with the instructions and let Nicholas open the gift....a Little People Nativity Set!!! It even came with a black sheep...we named it Uncle Rob.

We all LOVE it...THANK YOU! (oh, and Nicholas said it tastes good, too =)

Autumn Joy

First Haircut

Okay, okay...we heard ya. After all the rolled eyes over Nicholas's hippy-do, we relented and went to "Pigtails and Crewcuts" - a place designed with kids in mind! No tears were spilled as Nicholas enjoyed playing Fire Chief and getting his silky locks cut off. No tears were spilled by mommy either, which was a bit more surprising! =) Now in a few months from now when people say "he needs a haircut..." we'll say, "He's already HAD one!"

Oops - Nov. 8th comparison

I forgot the Nov. 8th photo post - continuing the tradition of taking a photo on the same day of each month for the first year. I can't believe I only have two more shots to take before Nicholas hits the 1 year mark. Did the year go by as fast for everyone else????

Mommy's Day Out

I met up with Kristel for lunch and shopping in Williamsburg. Although most of the trees have passed their autumn peak, we lucked out with a gorgeous day. It was a wonderful break...

Halloween Dragon

In theory, the dragon costume was a good idea. Simple, easy to put on, comfortable and warm. The downfall? The dragon head was too heavy to stay up on its own. Oh well, we thought our little dragon was pretty cute anyway.

Nicholas got all bundled up for the first really chilly morning of fall...thanks Leah and Pam for the really fun hat!

Family Moment and Discovery

Nicholas loves gato and sometimes gato is tolerant of him as evidenced in the Saturday morning photo. Nicholas has also learned to pull himself up on his knees which has led to some fun discoveries for him...even when he is SUPPOSED to be napping. =)

Pumpkin Patch
