Jingle Bell Scare

One minute, Nicholas was happily jingling the jingle bell and the next, he was showing me how snuggly it fit around his index finger. It was so tight, that we weren't able to just pull it off - not even with a little bit of vaseline. So, Tony had to get some tools. At first, Nicholas wasn't too bothered by it but after a little bit of effort on Tony's part - Nicholas began to realize he couldn't get his finger back right away and he started to cry. Once the bell was successfully cut away from the finger and some smarties were dished out - the world was a better place again.

Lions and tigers and bells...oh my!!! Did it cut him at all? It is always amazing to me how fast an inocuous object can become harmful...even with diligent parents! Glad all is well and hope he won't have any lasting bell phobias!

No cuts, thankfully - just a little red mark. He actually went to stick his other finger in the bell when I told him that he had his first finger stuck. I think it wasn't until Tony came back with the tools that Nic figured out it wasn't a great situation to be in!

ahhhhh

so Nick is taking after his cousin, Teresa.

At 3, Teresa tried to crawl THROUGH the ottoman.

I had to get a neighbor to help Jim take the thing apart. That was fun...

NOT

Good luck with that! I'm glad he wasn't hurt!
