A Grand Illumination

We took a trip to Williamsburg yesterday with our friends Leah and Beth to celebrate the cities Grand Illumination festivities. We try to go each year because we love the colonial christmas decorations, the hot apple cider, the festive music and the way the streets are lit with fire hanging from random baskets along the main drag.

Last night was sooo cold, we left way before the fireworks. But, it was still nice to get out and see some of the scenery. Nicholas ran into someone extra special, too. =)

What did Nicholas think of his new found friend? Sorry it was so cold. We had high winds and it was tough to go for our usual Sunday walk. Love, Grandpa and Grandma

It must be like going to the Christmas markets in Germany :)
